A Lakeview woman arrested following a traffic stop last September has been sentenced to three years of community control and must complete treatment in the adult recovery court program.
Katelyn Dugan, 31, was sentenced for aggravated possession of drugs and possession of cocaine, both fifth-degree felonies, in Logan County Common Pleas Court.
Dugan was arrested following a Sept. 3, 2024, traffic stop when a Logan County Sheriff’s deputy observed her driving a white Nissan Altima northbound on State Route 235 near Powhatan Path without a visible license plate. A temporary Ohio tag was observed at the time of the stop in the rear window, but it had expired the month before.
Deputies noted signs of drug impairment during the stop and asked Dugan if she had anything illegal in the vehicle. She eventually admitted to having fentanyl residue on tin foil, unused needles and a small amount of methamphetamine.
A vehicle search uncovered a small rock of suspected methamphetamine, two tinfoil packages containing methamphetamine and crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia, including four cut straws with powdery residue and two syringes found in an eyeglass case inside her purse.
Dugan admitted to obtaining the drugs from Columbus and identified the substances as methamphetamine and crack cocaine.
She was also ordered to pay court costs as part of her sentence, and was given two days of jail credit.
Other defendants recently sentenced include:
Karen Cromes, 47, of Lakeview: Three years’ community control and ordered to pay court costs for domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony; and
Kara Anderson, 42, of DeGraff: Three years’ community control and ordered to pay court costs for possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.
