Laura Plum, 24, of Bellefontaine, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest as a result of an incident Monday, Jan. 15.

Officers of the Washington Township Police Department were dispatched about 7:55 p.m. to 8890 Township Road 239, Lot 30, in reference to a female under the influence and having a manic episode.

Upon arrival, officers heard yelling coming from inside of the residence. Upon making contact with Plum, officers said she continued to yell profanities at the other residents inside of the home.

The defendant was asked several times to calm down and refused officers request.
Officers requested that she go to Mary Rutan Hospital for a mental health evaluation multiple times and she reportedly refused treatment.

After several more orders for her to calm down, she refused and was advised she was under arrest. Plum reportedly pulled away from officers and resisted arrest. After a brief struggle, she was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
