Four projects earned “superior” ratings at the recent Benjamin Logan Science Fair and those students will be advancing to the District Science Day at Ohio Northern University
Libby Siefring, Allie Fay, Keaton Varner, Dylan Vance and Winnie Bodin will be moving on with their projects.

Their projects were titled: Allelopathy (Keaton Varner); Variation of Medieval Antimicrobial Remedy (Allie Fay and Libby Siefring); The Biological and Chemical Assessment at Various Locations over Six Years (Winnie Bodin); and The Presence of Micro Plastics within Indian Lake, Logan County, Ohio (Dylan Vance).

Dylan and Winnie each received perfect scores.

In addition, Winnie received the first place Environmental Science award and Dylan received the second place Environmental Science award.

Allie and Libby received the Mary Rutan Award and the Microbiology Award.
Eight projects received “excellent” ratings and two projects earned a “good” rating.

Excellent projects included: Bread Molding Experiment (Rylan Norviel and Josey Queen); What Cleaning Product Kills the Most Bacteria? (Natalie Chapman); Biofuels (Haley Bradley and Trinity Helton); Music Minds (Brooks Myers, Kaitlin Phillips and Mya Burrey); Fingerprinting Forensics (Miah Defibaugh); Investigating which Fuels Release the Most Energy as Heat (Kaidyn Green and Nate Hoffman); Household Products that Can Remove Rust (Elliot Carpenter); and How pH Levels affect Corn Germination and Rate of Development (Avery Carmer and Annika Chappell).
