Ridgemont boys lose to Wildcats 57-42

Basketball HoopsRidgemont’s boys basketball team fell to visiting North Union 57-42 in a non-league game Tuesday night.

The Gophers are now 3-6 on the season. North Union improves to 4-5.

Ridgemont got off to a good start. The Gophers led 15-11 after one quarter of action.

The score was deadlocked at 22-22 at halftime.

North Union took control in the second half, outscoring the Gophers 17-7 in the third period to lead 39-29.

The Wildcats continued to add to their lead in the final stanza.

Xavier Stuck led the Gophers with 11 points.

Colton Bailey had eight points and Clayton Patterson, Harrison Reppart and Wes McKinley each scored five points.

Max Parish scored a game-high 22 points for the Wildcats.

The Gophers are back in action Saturday at Riverdale.
