Anthoney L. Peterman, 47, of DeGraff, was transported by Indian Lake EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a crash Monday morning, Dec. 18.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Peterman was operating a southbound 2002 Nissan Altima on S.R. 235 about 7:40 a.m. when he struck the rear of a southbound 2019 Ford Edge operated by Penny Fitzpatrick, 63, of Russells Point, that had stopped to turn left onto County Road 13.

Fitzpatrick also reported minor injuries, but was not transported from the scene, deputies said.

Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.

Peterman was cited for lanes of travel/left of center.

Taser deployed on disorderly conduct suspect
Kerri L. Emrick, 47, and Michael W. Cole, 50, 12039 Holly Drive, Lakeview, each were charged with disorderly conduct related to an incident Friday, Dec. 15, at their residence.

Deputies responded to their address about 5:55 p.m. on a report of a domestic dispute, and first spoke with Cole, who stated that Emrick had been intoxicated that day and struck him that morning. He also noted that she sustained carpet burn on her face after falling on the floor while she was intoxicated.

Deputies stated that Cole also was drinking alcohol while talking to them.
Deputies also spoke with Emrick and observed the injury to her cheek and the bridge of her nose. They noted that she was visibly intoxicated and slurring her words. Deputies began to place her under arrest and said Cole then began to get irate.

He reportedly began walking toward deputies and ignored multiple commands to get back. A deputy then drew a Taser on Cole, and he responded by putting on a sweatshirt, ignoring their commands and stating that he had been Tased before.

Deputies deployed the Taser once and said the Taser did not seem to have an affect on Cole. The Taser was deployed on him a second time and he was placed under arrest.
Officers of the Russells Point and Washington Township police departments also assisted at the scene.

Both defendants were transported to the Logan County Jail. While en route, deputies said Cole was verbally abusive and used profanity to make threats toward them. At the jail intake area, he reportedly continued yelling and being aggressive and was placed in a restraint chair.

Emrick was uncooperative as well and was placed in a restraint chair, deputies said.

Cole also was charged with resisting arrest.
