Man lodged for urinating in public

Robert Castle, 60, of Bellefontaine, was arrested around 4:40 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30, after he was observed urinating onto the railroad tracks in the area of the 200 block of west Columbus Avenue.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to that location following a report by a witness who told dispatch she made eye contact with the defendant as he reportedly relieved himself in plain view.

Officers arrived on scene and identified Castle walking westbound. They made contact with and questioned Castle about having urinated on the tracks and Castle reportedly admitted that he had relieved himself onto the railroad tracks because he couldn’t hold it any longer.

Castle was extremely apologetic and offered to clean up the mess, according to a police report. Castle admitted to having drank two beers but denied being intoxicated.
He was charged with public indecency and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

Dog owner issued a citation for animals at-large
Steven Hernandez, 21, of Bellefontaine, was issued a citation for animals at-large around 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30, after police were again called to help corral his canines running loose.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Erie and Superior streets on a report of two huskies and a Rottweiler running loose.

After a brief search for the dogs, officers located the canines in the area of 1228 Superior Street and secured the animals in the rear of their cruiser.
A passerby reported the dogs belonged to a resident on Wilgus Street, later identified as Hernandez.

Police report this was the third time they were called for dogs running loose in the area. Hernandez was issued a citation, and the incident report was forwarded to the Bellefontaine Prosecutor’s Office.
