Lady Tigers grab win over Pioneers

West Liberty-Salem’s girls basketball team used a strong second half to take a 44-34 win over host Jonathan Alder in a non-league game Tuesday night.

The Tigers are now 6-6, while the Pioneers fall to 4-8.

The game was tied 12-12 after one quarter and the Pioneers led 20-17 at halftime.

WL-S outscored the hosts 10-1 in the third quarter to lead 27-21.

The Tigers continued to pull away in the final period.

Chaley Wade and Bailey Poppe led the Tigers with 14 points each. Lillian Weaver had 13 points.

In the junior varsity game, WL-S won 20-18. Ava Poppe led the Tigers with eight points points.

The Tigers are back in action Saturday at home against Cedarville.
