SPRINGFIELD — Troopers of the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Saturday afternoon, May 17 involving a pedestrian and two vehicles on Urbana Road near Eagle City Road.
Michael Wise, 36, of Urbana, succumbed to his injuries at the scene, troopers report.
Wise was outside of his parked 2008 Chevrolet Aveo about 1:53 p.m. reportedly changing a flat tire along the right shoulder of Urbana Road. A northbound 2002 Chevrolet Silverado that failed to maintain its lane traveled onto the shoulder and struck Wise and his vehicle, troopers report.
The Silverado’s driver, Jason Milliner, 50, of Lebanon, sustain minor injuries and was transported by Moorefield Township EMS to Springfield Regional Medical Center.
Troopers were assisted by Moorefield Fire Department and EMS, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the Clark County Coroner’s Office and Dan’s Towing.
Investigation continues.
