Seven people, who were charged in June as part of an ongoing drug investigation, were named in indictments handed up this week by a Logan County grand jury.

Brian C. Mees, 49, of Bellefontaine, faces one count of complicity to illegal manufacture of drugs, a second-degree felony.

De’Andre L. Tucker, 45, at large; Tonja M. Parsley, 57, of Bellefontaine; Timothy E. Clark, 66, of Bellefontaine; Jeffrey C. Clark, 63, of Bellefontaine; Roscelle Clark, 63, of Bellefontaine; and Chase M. Whiting, 33, of Bellefontaine, each face single counts of possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.

On June 27, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department and deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office executed multiple narcotics-related search warrants throughout the city.

Mees, Whiting and Tucker were located around 7:20 p.m. at 417 E. Auburn Ave. Evidence of drug trafficking and drug use was found and seized at the scene.

Whiting attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by the police department’s canine, Pyro, and his handler. Whiting was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of injuries from the canine’s bite before he was released into custody.

Law enforcement then served warrants at 417 1/2 N. Detroit St. and took Parsley and the Clarks into custody.

Searches also were conducted at 450 Kristina Drive, apartments 7C and 14E, which were associated with Whiting. Evidence supporting the investigation was seized, according to police.

The search warrants were issued after several months of investigation.
