Officer of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol on State Route 235 near County Road 54 about 3:20 p.m. conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Copeland for a license plate violation.

Upon making contact with Avril and her passenger, Anton Young, 25 of Dayton, officers observed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The pair were asked to exit the vehicle and Young admitted to having a loaded handgun in the center console.

Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located marijuana along with a loaded firearm in Copeland’s purse that they were not informed about.

Due to Copeland’s age and failure to disclose the loaded firearm in her purse, she was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Logan County Jail.

Upon making contact with Cruz and Jones, officers were advised there were open containers of alcohol inside of the vehicle.

During a probable cause search, officers located methamphetamine inside of Jones’s wallet along with open containers.

Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail. Cruz was issued a citation for driving under suspension and open container in a motor vehicle.
