West Liberty-Salem’s varsity boys basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to notch a 49-40 victory over host Southeastern in Ohio Heritage Conference play Tuesday night.
The Tigers are now 8-4 overall and 6-2 in the OHC. The Trojans move to 5-7, 2-6.
WL-S jumped out to a 25-11 lead at halftime.
The Tigers went on to hold a 14-point cushion (32-18) after three quarters and they held off the Trojans in the final period to wrap up the win.
Taran Logwood led the Tigers with a game-high 18 points. Carson Poppe scored 14 points and Brevin Louden had 12 points.
In the junior varsity game, the Tigers won 37-33. Jackson Steider led WL-S with 13 points, Caleb Hershberger had 12 and Isaiah Reames added eight points.
The Tigers’ freshman team won 20-6. Gaven Nance led the Tigers with six points.
The Tigers are back in action Friday at home against Cedarville.
