The Lakeview Branch Library is set to re-open after being closed for five months due to catastrophic damage caused by the EF-3 tornado that struck the Indian Lake area March 14.

The library will now operate from a new temporary location at 165 E Lake St., Unit B, in Lakeview, next to the Osgood Bank.

To mark this significant milestone, the library is hosting a Grand Opening celebration Thursday, Aug. 22, from 4:30 to 8 p.m., beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. with the Logan County Chamber of Commerce.

“The public is warmly invited to attend, explore the new space and join in the festivities,” Logan County Libraries Executive Director Beverly Arlequeeuw said.

“The Lakeview Branch Library has been a cornerstone of the community, providing valuable resources, programs and services. The re-opening event promises to be a joyous occasion, celebrating resilience and the continuation of the library’s mission to serve the public.”
