Bellefontaine High School graduate Amy Fulmer added another chapter to her illustrious swim career Thursday night in Indianapolis.
Fulmer, a member of the Ohio State swim team who has earned numerous All-American honors in her college career, finished seventh in the 50-meter backstroke on the third day of the Phillips 66 National Championships.
Many swimmers in the field are former U.S. Olympians.
Having advanced to Thursday’s final in the 50 backstroke, Fulmer turned in a career-best time of 28.05 for her seventh-place finish.
Earlier in the meet, Fulmer won the B final of the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.27. That was a personal best for the former Chieftain star and was just .06 seconds off the Ohio State program record.
The Phillips 66 National Championships serve as a selection meet to determine the United States team rosters for the 2023 World Championships, World Junior Championships, LEN U-23 European Championships and the Pan American Games.
Fulmer is one of 29 Ohio State men and women are the current roster to compete in the meet.
