Roxanne Abrams

871

Roxanne Abrams, 71, of Bellefontaine, battled through to make it home and finally rest on Friday, April 7, 2023,  surrounded by loved ones until the very end.

She was born February 1, 1952, in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Emmett Welch and Betty (Scott) Welch Kinney.

Roxanne married the love of her life, Dan Abrams, and lived a happy life together for 38 years before his unfortunate passing.

Roxanne blessed the lives of many family members and friends still around today. She is survived by her loving brothers Dave (Gerri) Welch, Mark (Laurie) Welch, Jeremy Welch; sisters Deb (Bob) Keller; Tammy (Ron) Welch; Bobbie Jo (Welch) Pierce; daughter Debbie (Shamblin) Hefner; grandchildren, Bradon, Beau, and Beckett; Son Davey (Wendy) Shamblin, and grandchildren, Tyler, Tegan, Grace, and Graylyn; daughter Kristy (Tim) Culp of Hilliard, Ohio and grandchildren Jacob, Bailey, and Elizabeth; daughter Katy (Len) Taylor of Jackson Center, Ohio and grandchildren Hannah, Lucas, and Emma and great-granddaughters Averie and Ariella; numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly; and beloved pets Bear and Napoleon.

She was preceded in death by brothers Dan Welch, and Kelly Welch.

She was retired from Honda after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed being a Nana to a large family and lots of grandkids, and was always bringing positivity into the lives of those around her by being kind and caring. Christmas Eve was always one of the best times of the year for her as all the family gathered around at her home to celebrate and open presents.

After retirement, Roxanne really enjoyed binging Hallmark movies and HGTV. You could never keep any chocolate or sweets in the house as she always craved them. Anyone who knew her could never forget how much she enjoyed poker and probably lost gambling a few times to her.

A special thanks to the team at St. Rita Hospital. With their support, she was able to fight through and make it home before passing. All of your efforts mean the world to the family.

A Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty following the service.
