Richard L. Snider, 78, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 5:19 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born on May 29, 1945, in Lima, Ohio, the son of the late Henry and Eileen (Anspaugh) Snider.
On August 5, 2006, he married, Nellie Smith Moore Snider, and they have 33 years together as partners with her preceding him in death, just a week previous to Richard’s passing. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and Rollie Snider.
He is survived by two grandchildren, Colt (Lori) Moore and Jessi (Dustin) Voll, four great grandchildren; Paul W. Moore, Eli Moore, Amelia Moore, and Alaina Voll, a sister, Phyllis Snider of Virginia, a brother, Rod Snider of Indiana, a cousin, Don Snider, many extended family and friends, two dogs, Angel & Abby, and a cat, Torey.
Rick served his country with honor and distinction in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. From 1967-68, he was stationed in Phu Cat, Vietnam and fought in the TET Offensive. He retired from D.A.B./Glacier Daido after 30+ years of work. He loved camping and owning an R.V. and would always be tinkering with something. He also loved Christmas time and would assemble a Christmas Village in his home. He also enjoyed trains and fishing.
Pastor Jeffory Willetts will officiate a private graveside service in East Liberty Cemetery.
