A Beaverdam man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following a Saturday April 19, traffic stop for other moving violations.
Travis Dauterman, 35, was arrested for OVI, speeding, weaving and a marked lanes violation following a 1:01 a.m. traffic stop in the 1000 block of Ludlow Road, officers the Bellefontaine Police Department report.
Officers detected an oder of alcohol coming from the suspect’s vehicle and noted that his speech was slurred during questioning.
Dauterman was unsteady on his feet and he failed various field sobriety tests, according to reports.
The vehicle was released to a female passenger traveling with Dauterman.
The suspect was taken to the police department where he refused a breathalyzer test. As a result of the test refusal, he faces a two-year license suspension because of a previous OVI conviction.
The suspect was issued a citation and released to his female passenger.
