Melva L. Ricketts, 80, of Belle Center was promoted by her Savior to Glory on June 1, 2023.
She was born in Kenton, Ohio on August 26, 1942, to Emerson and Bernice (Musser) Dillon.
She married William “Bill” Ricketts on November 17, 1962. They were blessed with 60 years together.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill, their daughter, Jane (Greg) Watkins of Bellefontaine and son, David (Heidi) Ricketts of Belle Center.
Melva and Bill were blessed with 6 grandchildren, Tyler (Alicia) Watkins, Christopher (Jessica) Watkins, Emily (Brandon) Krugh, Blaine (Heather) Ricketts, Grant (Katherine) Ricketts, Ethan Ricketts and 3 great grandchildren: Emmett Gregory, Reagan Kay and Blaire Lillian.
She is also survived by her sister, Rose Mary (Larry) Wendling of Urbana, and their daughters: Amy (Robert) Wendling-Sellman and Kelly Wendling; brother-in-law, Glenn Ricketts; sister-in-law, Patricia Ricketts and many nieces and nephews in the Ricketts family.
Melva was a graduate in the class of 1960 from Belle Center High School and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine. Her faith in God was a great testament to family and friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great joy to her.
Pastor Jeff Willetts will officiate a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 5, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1140 Rush Ave, Bellefontaine, OH 43311. Visitation will be one hour prior from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Fairview, Belle Center Cemetery.
