West Liberty-Salem’s girls basketball team earned a berth in the sectional final with a resounding 60-23 victory over Greeneview on Wednesday in Division III action at Covington High School.
The Tigers are now 14-10 on the season and will play at 6 p.m. Monday against the Preble Shawnee-Graham winner at Covington.
WL-S led 21-13 after the first quarter.
The Tigers then blew the game open in the second quarter, outscoring the Rams 23-0 to lead 44-13 at halftime.
WL-S went on to lead 60-19 after three quarters.
It was a balanced offensive effort for the Tigers.
Ava Astorino led WL-S with 15 points, Chaley Wade had 14 points, Megan Hollar scored 11 points, Bailey Poppe had nine and Lilly Weaver chipped in seven.
The Tigers knocked down 10 three-pointers on the night, with five coming from Astorino.
Greeneview ends its season with a record of 9-14.
