Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, Jane Eileen Huber, 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Edina, Minnesota.

She is survived by her son, Matthew Huber, his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Haley Ruth and Harrison Timothy, of Edina, Minnesota. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Weingardt, her niece Beth Brenamen, nephew Ted Lomicka, and several beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jane was born July 18, 1943, and raised in Elida, Ohio, where she graduated from Elida High School. After high school, she moved to New York City, chasing her sense of adventure and creative spirit by attending art school and using her talent designing department store window displays in the big city.
After returning to Ohio, she met the love of her life, Tim, and they were married and shared many wonderful years.
Most of her career was spent as an antique dealer and business owner. Jane had a sharp eye and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. She had wonderful friends in the antiquing community and could often be found at Friday night auctions, soaking in the thrill of the find and the stories behind each piece.
Alongside her passion for antiques, Jane loved her mother’s heritage in the Mennonite community and proudly participated in the annual summer quilt auction that benefited the local school in Plain City, Ohio.
She adored her grandchildren and treasured the many family trips they took over the years to Destin, Florida, Table Rock Lake in Missouri, Connecticut, and Maine. A gracious host, Jane had a way of making the ordinary extraordinary. Her grandchildren will never forget the fresh strawberries with powdered sugar she always had ready, or the effortless way she could throw together a perfect picnic. Haley and Harrison especially loved exploring her home, filled with treasures from her years in the antique business, pottery, oddities, and beautiful, one-of-a-kind finds.
Jane also had a deep love for birds and flowers and was known for her beautiful floral arrangements and stunning table settings. She had a true gift for making people feel special, always noticing the little things and offering heartfelt encouragement to those she loved.
In 2021, Jane relocated to Edina, Minnesota, where she spent her later years close to her son and his family. She quickly became a beloved and popular resident at The Waters community, making many dear friends and becoming a favorite among residents and staff alike. She found joy in playing Rummikub, doing puzzles with her friends, and joining Friday night “pizza nights” at Matt and Jennifer’s house with the neighbors, always making every moment feel like a celebration. She truly thrived in her time in Minnesota.
Jane’s warmth, wit, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Reverend Jim Ellington will begin graveside services at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, at Bellefontaine Cemetery.
