A man charged with felony assault and domestic violence for shoving a family member was among those indicted this week by a Logan County grand jury.
Devin LaFollette, 43, of Bellefontaine, was indicted on single counts of felonious assault, second-degree felony, and domestic violence, a felony of the fourth degree.
He was arrested June 25 following a call for service to deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office to a residence on south County Road 32 in rural Bellefontaine. When they arrived they found the defendant and his 17-year-old-daughter waiting outside.
Witnesses reported that LaFollette became upset with the victim during an argument over work as well as matters at home. Deputies were told the victim fell against the door and onto the steps where she remained until law enforcement arrived.
Both of LaFollette’s children were in the home at the time. The fall aggravated injuries associated with a broken neck five years prior, according to deputies on the scene, leaving the victim without feeling in her back and legs.
A report was also forwarded at the time to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office and Children Services for review.
