Dr. Shiva Prasad’s selection as a fellow reflects his unwavering allegiance to his profession and his significant contributions to advancing the goals of the association.

As a fellow, Dr. Shiva Prasad is distinguished as a select group within the APA, recognized by his colleagues for his outstanding dedication and achievements.

Twenty years ago in 2005, Dr. Shiva Prasad also received the honorary title of Fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine at the AAFM Annual Meeting in San Francisco.

“My profession as a primary care provider and a psychiatrist allows me to provide care to the most vulnerable population,” the honoree said.

“It is a privilege and an honor to be a Fellow of American Academy of Family Medicine and a Fellow of  American Psychiatric Association. Humbled with this unique combination of credentials, I consider it my responsibility to deliver high-quality healthcare and be a strong advocate to my patients and peers.”

In addition to serving the primary care and psychiatric needs of Logan County and the surrounding areas, Dr. Shiva Prasad provides psychiatric care in Guernsey County and surrounding areas of southern Ohio, which has a high prevalence of substance abuse disorders.

At the APA conference titled “Lifestyle for Positive Mental and Physical Health,” Dr. Shiva Prasad also enriched his knowledge by attending several courses with innovative treatment methods and plans to implement them in the communities of Ohio.

Fellowship applications undergo rigorous review and comment from the member’s district branch/state association, followed by approval by the APA Membership Committee and Board of Trustees.

Dr. Shiva Prasad’s fellowship underscores the recognition and support of his peers and the APA leadership for his significant contributions to psychiatry.
