Dixie Lee King

175

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Dixie Lee (Popp) King, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left this world on January 12, 2025, at the age of 75.

Dixie was born on March 15, 1949, in Bradenton, Florida, and was a lifelong homemaker, devoted not only to the care of her family but also to her unwavering faith in God. Her life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and dedication, and she touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She excelled in every project that she encountered.

As a mother, Dixie was a constant source of comfort and support, always placing the needs of her children before her own. Her home was a haven filled with warmth, laughter, and the smell of freshly baked meals. She was a guiding force in the lives of her family, nurturing them with boundless patience, wisdom, and compassion.

Her devotion extended beyond her immediate family to her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, affectionately known as “Mawmaw” to everyone. Mawmaw cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, imparting not only love but also the values of faith, integrity, and perseverance that she held so dear.

Throughout her life, Dixie was deeply involved in her church and community. Her faith was her foundation, and she dedicated countless hours to serving others, whether it was through volunteer work, prayer, or simply offering a kind word of encouragement. Her belief in God was unwavering, and her example of living with grace and humility inspired all who knew her.

Though she has left us, her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched. We take comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of the Lord, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.

Dixie is survived by her devoted husband, Dwight L. King, whom she married on August 10, 1968. They were privileged to have shared 57 years of their lives together. She is also survived by a daughter, Michelle Keller and Chad of Temple, GA, a son, Ronnie King and Lindsey of Urbana, OH and son, Elijah King of Palmetto, FL.
