David L. Schultz, 79, of Zanesfield, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in Memorial Gables, Marysville.
He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on February 21, 1945, the son of the late Gustav and Mable Mae (Amstutz) Schultz. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Schultz in 2005, two brothers, Daniel Schultz and James H. Schultz, brothers and sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Darrell) Yoder and Paul Williams, nieces, Sheryl Williams and Samantha Williams and his father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Oma Williams.
On December 26, 2010, he married Minnie Jane Smith, and she survives in Zanesfield. He is also survived by a son, Darrin (Teresa) Schultz, three grandchildren, Kelton Schultz, McKenna Schultz, Koen Schultz, a stepdaughter, Amie (Richard) Teeters, a step granddaughter, Katelyn Lensman, a sister, Ruth Schultz, two sisters-in-law, Nedra “Sue” Schultz and Leila Williams, nieces and nephews, Scott Schultz, Christopher Schultz, Teresa Miller, Jeff McConnell, Paige Pequignot, Larry Yoder, Lynn Yoder, and Stacey Bleininger and many great nieces and nephews.
David was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School and served his country in the US Army. He worked for Honda of America Manufacturing, until his retirement. He was a member of Goshen Friends Church in Zanesfield and was a proud grandfather of Kelton, McKenna and Koen. He was a very gentle, kind, generous man, loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He enjoyed buying red automobiles, bike riding, going for walks, trips to Myrtle Beach and mowing and caring for his property. Most importantly, David was a faithful servant to his Savior, Jesus Christ, and was committed daily to prayer, singing hymns and reading the Bible.
Pastor Wayne Downing will officiate a funeral service on Saturday, August 10, at 10 a.m. in the Goshen Friends Church, 5527 County Road 153, Zanesfield, Ohio. Visitation will be on Friday, August 9th, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Burial will be in Zanesfield Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard.
