David A. Castle, 86, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 10:16 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at The Ohio State University Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on August 21, 1938, to the late Sanford S. and Thelma V. (Bidwell) Castle.
On July 6, 1957, he married Judith A. (Blair) Castle, and she preceded him in death on May 10, 2017. David was also preceded in death by his daughter, Carey Resnik and 6 siblings.
He is survived by his son, Joseph “Andy” (Lori) Castle of Powell, Ohio; grandchildren, Blair Maxine (Daniel) Sarkisian, David Castle Resnik, Katie Castle, LeeAnn Castle, and Joey Castle; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
David was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He loved spending time with his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pastor Jay Curatti will officiate a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Bellefontaine Cemetery with military rites provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the David A. Castle Athletic Scholarship Fund in care of the family, 1885 Plains Blvd, Powell, Ohio 43065. This scholarship will help a senior at Bellefontaine High School pursuing athletics in college.
