Dale E. King, 92 of Springfield, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at the Springfield Masonic home. 

He was born January 6, 1933, in Cairo, Ohio to the late Herman L. Bud and Rosetta (Ritchie) King. 

He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart, Nancy S. (Siegenthaler) King, wife of 59 years; and also his brothers Gary and Robert King, sister-in-law Joy King, daughter Vanessa Voris and grandson Christopher Stewart.

He was a graduate of West Liberty High School class of 1951. Dale was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1953 to 1955. He retired from International Harvester after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Northridge United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Morning Star Lodge #795 in Springfield and Mad River Lodge #161 West Liberty serving over 60 years.

In his later years, if Dale was not spending time with family, old and new friends you would find him working on puzzles or playing bingo.

He is survived by his son Gregory (Karen) King, Son-in-law Jerome Voris: grandchildren Staci Masem, Amber King (Michael), Ashley (Kyle) Doggett, Abby (Justin) Deere, Amber Voris and several great, great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, in Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty, with the Rev. Ken Woode officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Northridge United Methodist Church, 4610 Derr Rd. Springfield, Ohio 45503; or to a charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana, Ohio.
