Christine S. (Himes) Darrah, 73, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a 1970 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, and a 1974 graduate of Ohio Northern University with a BA in Elementary education.

Born on February 12, 1952, in Bellefontaine, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Janet (Peterson) Himes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia J. Nichols.

On June 8, 1974, at the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine, she married her husband of 50+ years, Dr. Thomas Darrah and he survives in Dublin. She is survived by a son, Dr. Joel (Jennifer) Darrah of Bluffton, S.C.; two daughters, Meghan (Donald) Frazier of Columbus, and Emily (Eric) Green of Westerville; and six grandchildren, Olivia, Ryan, Walker, Everett, Lane, and Eli. Also surviving her is an uncle, Michael (Bobbie) Peterson, and a nephew, Matthew (Emily) Nichols, and her golden retriever, Maggie.

Christine enjoyed being a teacher in Missouri, a substitute teacher and school volunteer for Bellefontaine City Schools, a medical practice office manager, a real estate secretary, and for many years a flute and piccolo musician for the West Central Ohio Community Concert Band.

She loved spending time with family and friends, reading, and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed her monthly dinners, and annual reunion of college friends (The Circus) each year for 50 years. She was an avid collector of P. Buckley Moss artwork, and for many years was president of the “Apple Seeds of Moss” chapter. She was a previous member of the First Christian Church and The First United Methodist Church of Bellefontaine.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 12Noon to 3pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. There will be a private burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery officiated by Rev. Deborah Stevens.
