Carl R Good, age 72 of Bellefontaine, Ohio went to be with his Lord the Savior on June 6, 2023 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Carl was married to the love of his life Debra J (Hart) Good for over 52 years. Carl was born March 22, 1951, in Lima, Ohio, and was raised by his late grandparents Noah and Clara (Howard) Good on their family farm.
He retired from his own business Good’s Heating and Cooling after 37 years, retired from the Logan County Sheriff Department after 27 years and retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 27 years of service.
He was the loving father to Nathan (Nina) Good and Carla R Good. He accepted Kimberly (Gordon) Lawrence as his own daughter; Loving grandfather to Dilyn (Olivia) Good, Kayla Good, CJ Good, Gabrial (Renee) Lawrence and Mikaila Lawrence. Loving brother to Bill (Joella) Good, Edwin Good, Tammy Karpa, Tina Daugherty, Robin Klapp and Deborah (Chris) Staley; Brother-in-law to Gordon (Lori) Hart and Robert Hadley; many nieces, nephews and extended church family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister Marcella Humphreys, brother Earl Dean Good, sister-in-law Teresa Hadley, brother-in-law Joe Karpa. Mother-in-law Ina (Achors) Long, Fathers-in-law Clifford Long and Richard Hart.
Carl was a pilot and was very proud of his Cessna and loved flying. Carl even got his wife Debi who was afraid of flying to love it just as much as he did.
He was a very religious man and loved to spread the Gospel wherever he went. He was a faithful watcher of his friend Les Feldick’s TV show Through the Bible. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and he enjoyed doing Bible Studies at the Logan County Jail and was a member of the Gideons.
Carl was forced to retire and give up all of his loved hobbies due to Parkinson’s Disease, Hydrocephalus NPH and other developing illness’s and was unable to ever enjoy retirement.
Carl loved to travel and one of his favorite places was Marietta, Ohio where him and Debi loved going. Another favorite travel was when Carl and Debi took a cruise to Alaska and made great memories and friends there. Everybody that got to know Carl knew that he was a great man who accomplished a lot in his life and was a hard worker.
A Funeral Service will be officiated by Chaplain Jay Galle on Thursday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory, 5591 US Highway 68 S. West Liberty, OH 43357. Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 14, at the funeral home from 2 to 6 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Sharon Mennonite Cemetery located at 3170 Cremean Rd, Elida Ohio at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 15.
