C. Emerson Snapp, 88, of Huntsville, OH passed away early Saturday morning, February 18, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.
Emerson was born on July 28, 1934, in Huntsville, a son of the late Roy and Florence Idle Snapp. He is preceded in death by a son, James E. Snapp, Daughter-in-law, Christina Snapp, six siblings, Avis Nicholas, Wilda Hayes, Howard Snapp, Richard Snapp, Dwight Snapp and Dale Snapp.
Emerson married Sheila Kennedy on June 2, 1957 in Ohio City, IN and she survives along with a son, Jeffrey C. (Terri) Snapp of Bellefontaine, OH, four grandchildren, Amber Kay (T.J.) Weikart of Bellefontaine, Stacy Jo (Jason) Kidder of Russells Point, OH, Hannah (Aaron) Mauro of Bellefontaine, and Evan Snapp of Toledo, OH, four grandchildren, Robert Michael Weikart, Daniel Drew Weikart, Madison Noell Kidder and Skyler James Kidder, three siblings, Donna Voorhies of Huntsville, Ronald (Judy) Snapp of Findlay, OH, Wilbur (India Ann) Snapp of Cleveland, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
Emerson was a 1952 graduate of Huntsville School. He worked for the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and Logan County Health Department, and formerly owned and operated Huntsville Grain Company with his brother, Howard, and co-owned Glock Auto Sales with Mike Glock. Emerson was a member of Huntsville United Methodist Church. He was very community minded and services 39 years on the Logan County Co-Op Board of Directors, 26 years for Ohio Rural Electric, and 30 years with Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department. Emerson enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. Emerson once told his Sunday School Class, I could not hold a job, but I learned a lot and made a lot of friends along the way. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will begin a celebration of Emerson’s life at 11 am, Tuesday, February 28, at The Cornerstone Church at Huntsville, 6611 Fruit St, Huntsville with visiting from 10 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Emerson’s memory to The Cornerstone Church at Huntsville, Huntsville Fire & EMS, or Universal Home Health and Hospice Care.
