Anderson faces multiple rape, pandering charges

A 34-year-old Bellefontaine man was charged with five counts of rape and two counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor.

Paul Michael Dean Anderson was named in an indictment containing the first-degree felony rape and second-degree felony pander charges handed up this week by a Logan County grand jury.

He was arrested July 9 by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department after a relative of the victim learned of the alleged crimes.

Officers were dispatched to Anderson’s home on a report of argument between Anderson and the victim’s relatives.

He was taken into custody and read his Miranda rights. He reportedly admitted to sexual conduct with the victim, who is under the age of 13, on multiple occasions, the most recent occurring a few hours prior to his arrest.

He remains lodged in the Logan County Jail.

Others named in indictments are:

• Marcus A. Hagans, 39, of Springfield: aggravated vehicular homicide, a second-degree felony; and aggravated vehicular homicide, a third-degree felony;

• Vicki L. Cooper, 56, of Belle Center: two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs and one count of aggravated possession of drugs, second-degree felonies with specification for automobile forfeiture;

• Franklin E. Hurley, 47, of Russells Point: two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs and one count of aggravated possession of drugs, second-degree felonies with specification for automobile forfeiture; and one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a third-degree felony;

• Chad M. Knueve, 43, of Bellefontaine: grand theft, a fourth-degree felony; three counts of breaking and entering, fifth-degree felonies; tampering with evidence with firearm specification, a third-degree felony; theft from a person in a protected class, a fourth-degree felony; theft, a fifth-degree felony; and specifications for vehicle and property forfeiture;

• Corey R. Wood, 43, of Kenton: breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony; and misdemeanor theft;

• Austin D.E. Clem, 18, at large: aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony;

• Kevin J. Lycans, 28, of Springfield: operating a vehicle used the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, a fourth-degree felony; and misdemeanor driving under OVI suspension;

• David C. Taggart, 36, of Bellefontaine: possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony; and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia;

• Benjamin M.E. Hood, 34, currently in prison: theft, a fifth-degree felony;

• April R. Tuttle, 36, of West Mansfield: aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony;

• Charlene L. King, 31, of Bellefontaine: theft, a fifth-degree felony;

• Sarah N. Moro, 29, of St. Ann, Missouri: aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony; and tampering with evidence with firearm specification, a third-degree felony;

• Dustin J. Sconfienza, 39, of Columbus: breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony; and

• Roger D. Spangler, 61, of Russells Point: two counts of strangulation, third-degree felonies; and two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence.
