Dorothy Clara Lehmkuhle, 98, of Lakeview, OH passed away peacefully, early Saturday morning, May 4, 2024, at her home.
Dorothy was born on January 22, 1926, in Coldwater, OH, a daughter of the late August and Anna Leugers Bruns. She married James A. Lehmkuhle on July 29, 1950, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lehmkuhle, six brothers, Walter (Dorothy) Bruns, Wilbert (Thelma) Bruns, Ralph (Alice) Bruns, Alvin Bruns, Gerhard Bruns, and Leonard Bruns, two sisters, Mary (Carl) Ranly, and Delores (Jack) Gaier, and her stepmother, Agnes (Buening) Bruns.
Dorothy is survived by three children, Stephen (Cynthia) Lehmkuhle of Beavercreek, OH, Susan Miller of Lima, OH, and Gerald (Jane) Lehmkuhle of Minster, OH, eight grandchildren, Jason (Kristen) Lehmkuhle, Michelle (Reed) Birkenholz, Troy Miller, Jessica (Seth) Elliot, Brice (Carly Ramsdell) Miller, Stephanie (Nick) Rife, Kevin Lehmkuhle, and Eric Lehmkuhle, two step grandchildren, Sarah (LJ) Broughton and Joshua (Lindsey) Eber, 19 great grandchildren, a sister, Helen (George) Barhorst of Fort Loramie, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was an active and dedicated member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point, OH. She volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul Society, Altar Rosary Sodality, and Our Daily Bread. She worked at NCR in Dayton, and then at GEM Sportswear in Russells Point for 18 years before retiring. Dorothy enjoyed camping, playing cards and gardening.
Reverend Shawn Landenwitch will begin a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am, Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, 464 Madison Ave, Russells Point, with visitation from 9:30 -11:30 am at church. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Dorothy’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
