A two-vehicle, minor injury crash about 12:10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at the intersection of U.S. 33 and County Road 57 resulted in four people being transported to an area hospital.
Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report that Christopher Zickefoose, 40, of Bellefontaine, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox northeast on C.R. 57 stopped at the stop sign at U.S. 33. He then attempted to cross the highway but failed to yield to westbound traffic on U.S. 33 and was struck by a 2022 Honda CR-V.
Zickefoose was transported by Lakeview EMS, while the Honda’s driver, Jacob Hausch, 27, of Pickerington, was taken by Huntsville EMS, each with minor injuries to Lima Memorial Hospital.
Passengers in the Honda, Emily Hausch, and her infant daughter were transported by Bellefontaine EMS to LMH. The mother reportedly had minor injuries and her baby, who was properly secured in a rear-facing child safety seat, was not injured.
All adult vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts.
Zickefoose was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.
Traffic in the area was closed for a time.
