Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fight between two sisters about 8:40 p.m.Thursday, Aug. 21, at a Susie Street residence in Rushsylvania.

Upon arrival, deputies found a woman sitting on the floor in the home’s living room holding her left leg, which had an approximately four-inch cut on the thigh. She also had a cut on her foot and told deputies she had pain in her left hand, which she thought might be broken.

Deputies observed pieces of a shattered porcelain pot scattered throughout the room, along with furniture that appeared to have been moved out of place.

The injured woman told deputies her sister, Kari Thompson, 52, of Rushsylvania, came to the home and began attacking and yelling at the victim in a bedroom, saying she was the cause of all her problems. Thompson then reportedly dragged her sister by the hair out of the bedroom and into the living room, where the siblings’ elderly mother was sitting in a recliner.

According to reports, Thompson punched her sister and attempted numerous times to put her knee on her sister’s neck during the altercation.

Thompson then threw her sister on top of her mother in the recliner and into the porcelain pot, which broke, before leaving the home.

The mother confirmed details of the incident with law enforcement.

The injured sister told deputies Thompson had personal issues that were causing her emotional distress.

Deputies went to Thompson’s residence, where she was arrested for domestic violence without further incident.

She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
