Raiders fall short against Urbana

Benjamin Logan’s baseball team dropped a 5-3 Central Buckeye Conference contest to host Urbana on Wednesday.

The Raiders are now 1-7 overall and 1-5 in the CBC. Urbana improves to 5-5, 3-3.

It was a back-and-forth game.

Ben Logan scored a run in the first inning to get an early lead, but the Hillclimbers plated two runs in the second to go up 2-1.

Ben Logan tied the game at 2-2 in the fourth.

Urbana regained the lead in the fifth, scoring three runs to grab a 5-2 advantage.

The Raiders scored one more time in the sixth, but could not get any closer.

Ben Logan lost despite outhitting Urbana 11-4.

Hayden Kennaw went 2-3 with a home run to lead the BL offense. Bryden Morris and Ian Scheiderer each added two hits.

The Raiders travel to Tecumseh on Friday.

Lakers blow out Warriors

Everything was clicking for Indian Lake on Wednesday as the Lakers crushed host Northwestern 16-1 in six innings in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game.

The Lakers improve to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the CBC. Northwestern falls to 2-4, 1-4.
Indian Lake scored four runs in the second inning to lead 4-0.

The Warriors plated one run in the fourth before the Lakers added a run in the fifth for a 5-1 lead.

The Lakers put three runs on the scoreboard in the sixth to lead 8-1 and they piled up eight more runs in the seventh.

Gavin Lones went the distance to get the win for the Lakers. He allowed five hits, struck out 11 and walked two.

Offensively for IL, Chase Baldwin had a home run and four RBI, Camdon Tuttle went 2-5 with an RBI, Madden Lillard went 3-5 with an RBI, Dawson Finfrock was 2-2 with two RBI, Evan Manley had a double and two RBI, Maddux Hall had a double and two RBI and Lance Tucci had a double and an RBI.

Indian Lake hosts West Liberty-Salem today.

Pioneers edge Chiefs 11-10

Host Jonathan Alder pulled out an 11-10 win over Bellefontaine in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game Wednesday.

The Chiefs are now 1-6 overall and 0-5 in the CBC. The Pioneers improve to 9-0, 6-0.

Bellefontaine exploded for 10 runs in the third inning and held a 10-7 lead going into the fifth.

However, the Pioneers scored twice in the fifth frame and two more times in the bottom of the seventh to grab the win.

Owen Larison had a double to spark the Chieftain offense. Chris Fogan and Lane Reeves each had three hits and Riley Neer added two hits.

The Chiefs are back in action Friday at Urbana.
