Drivers Annette L. Wray, 57, of St. Paris, and Danielle N. Kalbfliesh, 27, of Lebanon, were transported by Macochee EMS and Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a crash Friday, Oct. 27.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Wray was operating a southbound 2011 Honda Accord about 11:20 a.m. on south U.S. Route 68.

Her vehicle reportedly struck the rear of a southbound 2020 Chevrolet Blazer operated by Kalbfliesh that was stopped waiting to turn east onto Township Road 190.

Wray was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Her vehicle sustained heavy damage and the Blazer sustained moderate damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Weekend OVI arrests reported

Christopher R. Miller, 46, of 628 E. Columbus Ave., Bellefontaine, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a traffic stop in Bellefontaine Sunday, Oct. 29.

Deputies on patrol about 2:35 a.m. on north Main Street in the area of Columbus Avenue observed that Miller’s vehicle did not have any taillights and initiated the stop, with the defendant stopping in the parking lot of the Dollar General, 308 N. Main St.

While speaking with the driver, Miller, deputies observed that his speech was slurred and he had an odor of alcohol on his breath. He refused to submit to field sobriety tests and a breath test and was placed under arrest. Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department also assisted with the stop.

The defendant was transported to the Logan County Jail and was also issued a citation for the taillights.

• Janet D. Clark, 73, 9038 Princess Road, Kings Landing, Lakeview, was charged with OVI Sunday evening.

Deputies on patrol about 7:20 p.m. in the area of Township Road 193 observed her vehicle drive onto T.R. 293 without her headlights activated. Deputies said she sat in the road for about one minute before turning on her headlights.

Deputies observed that she turned east onto State Route 235 and swerved twice in her lane at a slow rate of speed, and then she turned into the parking lot of Bobber’s, 15641 S.R. 235, Lakeview, where deputies initiated the stop.

Deputies said Clark displayed signs of intoxication and she complied with field sobriety testing. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail, where she refused to participate in a breath test. She also was cited for no headlights.
