Sarah N. Moro, 30, of St. Ann, Mo., is looking at a host of charges following an incident at the Huntsville Dollar General, Sunday, July 6, at about 2:48 p.m.
Employees of the store contacted deputies after they found Moro and another female acting suspiciously, entering and leaving the store repeatedly while carrying large bags. When questioned by deputies, both women appeared under the influence and Moro, at first, gave deputies a fake name and date of birth. Working with dispatch, deputies quickly determined Moro’s true identity, with dispatch learning that Moro had full extradition warrants out for her arrest in Missouri. At that point, Moro was taken into custody.
When placed in the cruiser, Moro reportedly made an ill-fated attempt to hide just under 10 grams of methamphetamine between the cruiser’s seat cushions, but her effort was witnessed and foiled by the deputies.
A squad was called the scene after Moro, who is pregnant, experienced shortness of breath and admitted to recently taking five fentanyl pills. She was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital and treated there, being discharged after several hours.
After her discharge from MRH, Moro was lodged in the Logan County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, and obstruction of justice, all of which are felonies, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. These charges are in addition to the extradition warrants that have been issued in Missouri.
