CHAMPAIGN COUNTY — A West Liberty teenager was one of two people injured in a crash about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, on East Kanagy Road at Ludlow Road in Salem Township in Champaign County.

Grant Michael Saylor, 19, of West Liberty, sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries, troopers of the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. He was flown by Careflight helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

Saylor was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger southbound on Ludlow Road when a westbound 2017 International MA025 commercial truck on Kanagy Road reportedly failed to stop at the intersection and struck the Ford, according to preliminary crash reports. Both vehicles then traveled off the south side of Kanagy Road, where the International overturned and the Ford struck an unoccupied 2016 Cadillac SRX on its owner’s property.

The International’s driver, Jack Thompson, 47, Homerville, sustained minor injuries and was transported by squad to Mercy Health-Urbana Hospital.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the West Liberty Fire and EMS, Careflight, Macochee Joint Ambulance District, Urbana Fire and EMS, Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, and Dan’s Towing.

Crash investigation continues.
