Caudill ties school single-game TD record
Bellefontaine opened the 2025 season on Friday with a 55-21 win over visiting Sidney.
Carter Caudill tied a school record with six touchdowns on the night. He finished with 16 carries for 120 yards.
The scores came on runs of three, one, and five yards in the first half, then 16, 53 and one yard in the second.
Reign St. Clair, making his debut as the starter, completed 19 of 25 passes for 329 yards, with two touchdowns to Sutton Daring (10 and 35 yards, respectively).
The Chiefs (1-0) travel to Bellbrook next Friday.

Tigers can’t keep up with Jonathan Alder
West Liberty-Salem fell to visiting Jonathan Alder Friday in non-conference play, 33-7
The Tigers broke up the shutout in the fourth as Beckett Sullivan threw a four-yard touchdown to Casey Boyer. Jake Lauck added the PAT with 9 1/2 minutes to go.
For the Tigers, quarterback Beckett Sullivan completed 12 of 21 passes for 115 yards but was intercepted three times. Corbin Wallace rushed 20 times for 74 yards, and
Naaman Stidham carried 10 times for 18 yards.
West Liberty-Salem (0-1) travels to Ben Logan (0-1) next Friday.
Riverside falls to Ansonia
ANSONIA — Riverside lost 36-6 to host Ansonia in a non-conference matchup.
The Pirates’ only score came with 9:04 to play in the second when Gunner Carpenter ran in a 1-yard touchdown. The PAT was no good.
Ansonia’s Carson Tobe accounted for four of the Tigers’ scores and racked up 337 yards on 47 carries.
Riverside (0-1) will host Northeastern next Friday.

Bath overpowers Indian Lake
LIMA — Indian Lake fell in the season opener to Bath 50-21 in a non-conference matchup.
The Lakers had one touchdown apiece in the second, third and fourth quarters.
Indian Lake quarterback Bradey Golliday was 19 of 28 for 216 yards on the night. Brodey Reisinger had eight catches for 129 yards.
The Wildcats’ quarterback Zack Welsch completed 18 of 27 passes for 400 yards with five touchdowns.
Indian Lake (0-1) will be at home against Fairbanks next week.
Bluffton slips by Raiders
BLUFFTON — Ben Logan came close to snapping its losing streak against host Bluffton Friday, but fell to the Pirates, 33-30.
The Raiders got on the board first when Cayden Brown caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Wyatt Predmore to go up 7-0.
Bluffton answered quickly with a pass down the sideline that resulted in a touchdown and tied the game.
On the ensuing kickoff, Ben Logan’s Carter Buck broke tackles and had a long running play. On the next play, Alex Hassel ran into the end zone to put the Raiders up, 14-7.
The Pirates battled back and were able to pull away late for the three-point win.
Bluffon has won the teams’ last three meetings.
