Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report a 15-year-old girl was transported by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries after she was struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon, March 19.
Officers said Abbigail Ball, 15, of Bellefontaine, was walking northbound along north Main Street about 3:15 p.m. and she attempted to cross the street on a crosswalk at Powell Avenue.
Kevin M. Deet, 53, of Bellefontaine, was operating an eastbound 2016 GMC pickup on Powell Avenue and stopped at the stop sign at north Main Street.
He reportedly failed to yield to the pedestrian and his vehicle struck her in the crosswalk.
No damage was reported to the pickup. Deet was cited for failure to yield.
