Thousands of dollars in stolen property returned to owners

A Bellefontaine man was arrested Tuesday afternoon, July 1, in connection with several felony thefts and other crimes in the county. 

Chad Knueve, 43, has been lodged in the Logan County Jail for multiple counts of grand theft, breaking and entering, tampering with evidence, and criminal trespassing, deputies and detectives of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report. 

Detectives’ investigation determined thefts of some $48,000 worth of property occurred on or about June 27. Items stolen include a 2022 Mahindra riding tractor valued at $40,000, a 2009 Bobcat Fast Trac Zero-Turn riding mower, $5,400 and a large wooden swing set with attached slide, $2,600. 

The stolen property has been returned to its owners, detectives said. 

Knueve is considered the primary suspect in the crimes. 

A suspect is in custody and stolen items valued at about $48,000, have been recovered and returned to their owners following an investigation by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. (LCSO Photo Combination)
