A Lakeview woman was issued a summons Thursday afternoon, Oct. 30, following a traffic stop that led deputies to discover suspected drug paraphernalia in a vehicle along U.S. Route 33 near State Route 274.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office stopped a 2009 Honda Civic at about 3:34 p.m. after observing the vehicle’s darkly tinted front windows, which violated state equipment regulations.
A records check showed the vehicle’s registered owner, Jonelle N. Tinch, 41, had a suspended driver’s license. The driver, identified as Roderick Williamson, was also found to have active warrants and alerts for narcotics use, according to the report.
Deputies observed both occupants smoking cigarettes when approached, which the report noted as a possible nervous behavior. Canine Tega was called to the scene to conduct an open-air sniff around the vehicle. The canine officer alerted to the passenger side, where Tinch was seated.
Tinch reportedly admitted possessing a leftover baggie that had contained cocaine.
A small fabric bag in the passenger area containing a rubber case with several unknown pills, two short plastic straws with white residue, and a small plastic baggie with white residue was found during a vehicle search.
Tinch was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and released at the scene. Williamson received a written warning for the window tint violation.
