Tavien St. Clair has added to his award collection.

St. Clair, who graduated early from Bellefontaine in order to begin his career with Ohio State, has been selected as the 2025 Marcus Dupree National High School Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year.

According to a news release, St. Clair was chosen for his performance, leadership and impact on the field throughout the 2024 football season.

The award is presented to a player who has excelled on the field while displaying determination and a commitment to excellence.

It is named for Dupree, who spent two seasons (1982-83) as a running back for the University of Oklahoma after a high school career in Mississippi.

Dupree went on to play in the United States Football League in 1984 and 1985. After recovering from a knee injury, he spent two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams in 1990 and 1991.

St. Clair will receive the award at the NHSF Hall of Fame’s induction ceremony on June 14 in Canton.

“Tavien St. Clair has proven himself to be one of the most dynamic quarterbacks to ever grace the high school football stage,” said Lamont Robinson, chairman of the hall’s board of governors in the release.

“His remarkable talent and leadership qualities embody the essence of what this award stands for. We are thrilled to recognize him as the 2025 Player of the Year and look forward to celebrating his achievements in Canton this June.”

St. Clair, the son of Marcus and Patricia St. Clair, enrolled at Ohio State earlier this month.
