DAYTON — Benjamin Logan claimed the number one spot at the Division II sectional boys bowling tournament Thursday. It is the first sectional title for the Raiders.
The action was held at RollHouse Lanes in Dayton.
The Raiders had a team total of 4,137 pins. That reflects a combined score of 2,920 in three regulation games and 1,217 in six Baker games.
The top 12 teams advance to the district tournament, along with a number of individual qualifiers.
Riverside sophomore Cooper Crouch had the top overall series at 744, with games of 251, 279 and 214 and will advance.
Also advancing are Tucker Searles and Devon Jones from West Liberty-Salem.
For Ben Logan, Jarrett Buckenroth had a 645 (268-200-177), followed by Caleb Knight with 609 (214-202-193), Landon Stoodt at 582 (235-188-159), Conner Chambers with games of 189 and 235, and Nate Davis with games of 161 and 171. Also taking part were Dylan Stewart, Wyatt LeVan and Colton Klopfenstein.
West Liberty-Salem finished 13th, missing the final qualifying spot by two pins with a total of 3.590.
Tucker Searles had the high series at 594 (223-145-226). Next was Devon Jones at 546 (213-202-131), then Luke Thomas with 505 (171-173-161) and Zander Gluckle with 484 (129-183-172). Carson Instine had a 195 game and Carson Kerns had a 140. Evan Borgerding and Jerome Cordrey also took part for the Tigers.
Riverside finished 17th with a total of 3,489.
Besides Crouch, Aiden Manning had a 453 (178-157-118), Ayden Mees had games of 171 and 165, Jace Lemly rolled games of 180 and 139, Jackson Linet had a 167, Kaitlyn Jackson had a 145, and Gabe Steineman rounded out the participants.
Triad (2,962) was 24th and Indian Lake (2,948) 25th in the field of 29 schools.
For the Cardinals, scores were Will Benton 489 (182-179-128); Noah Medows 437 (146-169-122); Erron Donohoe 432 (136-138-158); Hayden Sheppard 130 and 136; Caden Organ 131, with Mason Malone, Hunter Horsley and Chris Vallete also in action.
Indian Lake’s high total was rolled by Jeremiah Galbraith at 484 (156-179-149), followed by Brody Black 466 (170-138-158); Cody Jacobs 441 (135-159-147); Tommy Jones 158 and 155; Orion Reames 159; along with Gabe Stidam and Ethan Kirkpatrick.
The district tournament will be held Tuesday at Beaver-Vu Bowl in Beavercreek. Doors will open at 9 a.m. Team games begin at 10:45.
