A three-vehicle crash along U.S. Route 33 near County Road 57 on Friday, Dec, 20, resulted in serious injuries and one driver being cited for the crash.
Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Joseph Rose, 46, of Huntsville, was traveling eastbound on C.R. 57 when his vehicle crossed the westbound lanes of U.S. 33. His car collided with a westbound vehicle driven by Benjamin Mulldane, 49, of Lakeview. The impact caused Rose’s vehicle to spin out, strike a stop sign and come to rest in a ditch.
Mulldane’s vehicle continued on its path and struck a third vehicle, driven by Amy Preston, 25, of Huntsville, who was waiting at the intersection of C.R. 57 and U.S. 33. The collision caused Mulldane’s vehicle to overturn, landing on its driver’s side in a ditch near Rose’s car.
Emergency responders had to pull Mulldane from his overturned vehicle. He was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Rose was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.
