Fireworks lit the sky over Rushsylvania at the village’s annual display Saturday, June 28. The show capped off a day of fun, which included bounce houses, games, food trucks, and even a couple eating contests. The event was planned and hosted by the Rushsylvania Beautification Association and Independence Day committees, joined by the Rushsylvania Lions Club hosting the pancake breakfast and annual Independence Day parade. The Rush Church had various free activities for the families and even gave away 400 snow cones. The Rushcreek Volunteer Fire Department provided some much needed relief with the water ball and sprinkler. The Rushsylvania United Methodist Church ran a cake walk and RBA sponsored the old fashioned games and scavenger hunt. Eagy Solutions sponsored the cornhole tournament. Fellow sponsors on site included DJ Joe Pine, LO CO Bounce, R Smokehouse, Where There’s Smoke, Four Acres Clothing Co., Main Squeeze, and Charlie’s Popcorn. (EXAMINER PHOTO | SHARYN KOPF)
