Rushcreek Township first responders cover Station 9 on eclipse day

    As the highly anticipated total solar eclipse graced the skies Monday, April 8, the Rushcreek Township Fire and EMS Station 9 stood ready to respond at a moment’s notice to any incident that may have occurred.

    With an eye on safety and preparedness, first responders throughout Logan County and across the region were pre-emptively staffed up to address any unforeseen incidents or potential traffic congestion that might arise during this celestial event. As thousands of visitors were projected to come into the area, fire and EMS crews and law enforcement made advance staffing plans to prepare.

    Fortunately, the day unfolded smoothly, and no major incidents were reported locally. With clear skies, the first responders of Rushcreek Township had the opportunity to witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of the solar eclipse.

    In addition to enjoying the eclipse, the dedicated Rushcreek Fire and EMS team also took the opportunity to engage in various tasks around the station. From cleaning flower beds to conducting training sessions on the trucks and carrying out general maintenance, the day was filled with productivity and team-building, personnel reported.

    To kickstart the day, the Rushcreek Township Trustees served breakfast to the fire department family, fostering a sense of unity and appreciation among all members.
