Rough 2nd half costs Chiefs in loss to Urbana

Bellefontaine’s boys basketball team struggled offensively in the second half Tuesday in a 61-41 loss to Urbana in a Central Buckeye Conference crossover game.

The Chiefs drop to 6-6 on the season. Urbana improves to 9-3.

Bellefontaine turned in a strong first half. The Chiefs led 16-14 after the first quarter and held a 27-25 lead at halftime.

However, Urbana dominated the second half to cruise to the victory.

The Hillclimbers outscored BHS 18-8 in the third quarter to lead 43-35.

Urbana continued to pull away in the final stanza.

C.J. Wilson led the Chiefs with 15 points. He was the lone BHS player in double figures.
Tavien St. Clair had seven points and Kaden Reames chipped in six for the Chiefs.

Jonathan Hildebrand scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Hillclimbers.

In the junior varsity game, Urbana won 57-26.

The Chiefs are back in action Friday at London.
