35 Riverside BPA members to compete at nationals

Riverside Business Professionals of America (BPA) co-advisers, Lindsay Wyan and Michelle Suman, announce that 35 students have achieved outstanding success and will be advancing to the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla.

These students have shown exceptional dedication, skills, and knowledge in their respective competitions, earning them the opportunity to represent Riverside at the national level. Their achievements reflect not only their individual talents but also the outstanding support and guidance provided by their advisors and the entire Riverside community.

“The students’ achievements are a source of great pride,” noted Wyan.

The National Leadership Conference in Orlando, set for May 7 -10, promises not only competitive events but also professional development courses and networking opportunities. Students will have the chance to participate in various national events, connecting with individuals from all corners of the United States and gaining invaluable insights and experiences.

“I am incredibly proud of our students’ performance at the State BPA Competition. This experience goes beyond a simple competition; it’s a lifetime investment in their skills, confidence, and future success. Witnessing their dedication and growth is truly inspiring.” added Suman.

Additionally, Riverside BPA extends heartfelt congratulations to Kara Klingler for achieving the esteemed position of the 2025-2026 Ohio Chapter President.

Following their performance at the Columbus Convention Center on March 11, students advancing to nationals include: Chloe Purtee – Banking and Finance, Morgan Shockey – Economic Research, Gabe Steineman – Personal Financial Management, Allison Estep – Intermediate Word Processing, Lilly Huber – Intermediate Word Processing, Alex Thuel – Integrated Office Applications, Gillian Knight – Basic Office Systems and Procedures, Eli Kindle – Basic Office Systems and Procedures, Brook Hunkler – Advanced Office Systems and Procedures, Jaxon Woods – Human Resource Management, Kara Klingler – Prepared Speech, Jorden Dunham, Jayden Hoffer, Jaidyn Jackson, Brice Kauffman, Hayden McCully, Gavin Orsborne, Avery Perk, and Zoey Ransbottom – Parliamentary Procedure Team, and Caymen Courter – Health Administration Procedures.

In addition to their success at the state level, Riverside BPA students also excelled in virtual competitions, achieving national recognition.

The following teams and individuals placed in the top 20 in the nation: Start-Up Enterprise Team – Morgan Shockey, Aubree Huston, and Thomas Burden, Start-Up Enterprise Team – Jaxon Woods, Landon Purtee, Brianna Brandyberry, and Braylon Dunn, Interview and Digital Portfolio Design – Jayden Hoffer, Interview and Digital Portfolio Design- Jorden Dunham.

Furthermore, the following teams achieved top 10 national placement and will also advance to the National Leadership Conference in Orlando: Financial Portfolio Management Team—Reaghan McDaniel, Hayden McCully, Gavin Orsborne, and Zoey Ransbottom; Esports Team—Alexandra Carman, Keira Manahan, Landon Purtee, and Braylon Dunn.

At the national competition, the following Statesman Torch Award winners will also be recognized with their Ambassador Torch Award for receiving 70 points in each service-learning category: Brianna Brandyberry, Levi Buchenroth, Kelsey Burt, Kirstyn Carpenter, Jorden Dunham, Braylon Dunn, Jayden Hoffer, Brook Hunkler, Aubree Huston, Jaidyn Jackson, Kaitlyn Jackson, Brice Kauffman, Carter Kreglow, Gavin Orsborne, Avery Perk, Alex Thuel, and Jaxon Woods.

Other top 10 finishers at the state contest included: Brody Orsborne – Banking and Finance, Joshua Caldwell – Legal Office Procedures, Brianna Brandyberry, Kirstyn Carpenter, Braylon Dunn and Reaghan McDaniel – Administrative Support Research Project Group, Landon Purtee – Fundamental Desktop Publishing, Carter Kreglow – Interview Skills, Ashley Roach – Administrative Support Research Project, and Levi Buchenroth – Advanced Interview Skills.

Also at the state competition, Statesman Torch Award recipients who earned 50 points in each of the seven categories (Leadership, Service, Knowledge, Friendship, Cooperation, Patriotism and Faith, Hope and Love) included Aubree Huston, Brianna Brandyberry, Braylon Dunn, Jaxon Woods, Kirstyn Carpenter, Jayden Hoffer, Jaidyn Jackson, Brice Kauffman, Morgan Shockey, Gavin Orsborne, Avery Perk, Alex Thuel, Caymen Courter, Kara Klingler and Landon Purtee.
