The parents of a 15-year-old boy charged in a Christmas Eve shooting were arrested Wednesday, April 9, in connection to the case and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
William Yuretich, 54, and Vicki Yuretich, 55, the legal guardians of both the juvenile suspect and the victim, have each been charged with of obstruction of justice and and third-degree felony tampering with evidence related to the death of 23-year-old Nathaniel G. Jones.
Vicki’s booking record in the Logan County Jail indicates law enforcement believes she may have lied in her statements relating to the incident, and that the attempted to impede the investigation into their son Charly Yuretich’s involvement in the shooting, which occurred the morning of Dec. 24, 2024, at a residence at 227 N. Detroit St., Bellefontaine.
Charly Yuretich was arrested that same day after Jones was found with multiple gunshot wounds inside the home. Police responded to a 911 call at 10:22 a.m. and found Jones critically injured. He was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Logan County Prosecutor’s Office filed formal charges against Charly Yuretich on Dec. 27, including murder, felonious assault, and firearm specifications. Because Yuretich is a juvenile, the charges were filed in juvenile court. A motion has been filed to transfer the case to adult court due to the severity of the allegations.
