Riverside Elementary first- and second-graders shined on stage Monday night, Dec. 1, during this year’s holiday program, “Candy Cane Lane.” The show centered around a fun and festive debate — which candy cane color is the best: red or green? Decked out in holiday and candy cane–themed costumes, students sang and danced to a mix of cheerful holiday tunes while defending their favorite stripes and swirls. The friendly dilemma was resolved with the arrival of a very special guest — Mrs. Claus. She shared the perfect message: every candy cane is special in its own way. A sweet reminder that variety and uniqueness make the season bright. (RIVERSIDE SCHOOLS PHOTO)
