Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are currently investigating a non-injury plane crash that occurred at the Bellefontaine Regional Airport at approximately 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 7.

A 2007 Diamond, DA-42, twin engine aircraft operated by Justin Stone, 26, of Pittsburg, and Co-Pilot Lisa Sochocki, 41, of Haleiwa, Hawaii, was in the process of taking off when the Co-Pilot inadvertently retracted the landing gear resulting in a gear strike with the runway.

Neither pilot sustained any injury and the aircraft sustained minor damage to the propeller and lower fuselage. The runway was not damaged and remained open.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Columbus FAA Office of Flight Standards.
